Frequently asked questions
What is a good CPS (clicks per second)?
Under 5 CPS is average, 5 to 7 CPS is good, 7 to 9 CPS is pro gamer territory and 10 CPS or higher is considered insane. Those bands are the community standard used across CPS test sites.
How do I increase my CPS?
Loosen your grip, click with the fingertip rather than the whole finger, and rest your palm so your arm is not doing any work. Most improvement comes from technique: drag clicking, jitter clicking and butterfly clicking all push past the limit of normal single-finger clicking.
What is jitter clicking and butterfly clicking?
Jitter clicking uses controlled arm and wrist tension to vibrate the finger over the button, typically reaching 10 to 14 CPS. Butterfly clicking alternates two fingers on the same button for 12 to 20 CPS. Both increase strain, so use them sparingly.
Does CPS matter for gaming such as Minecraft PvP?
Yes, up to a point. Minecraft combat rewards roughly 6 to 12 CPS during combos, and many servers cap or flag anything above 20 CPS as autoclicking. Beyond that range aim and movement matter far more than raw click speed.
Is this CPS test accurate?
The timer starts on your first click and uses performance.now(), so there is no request or render delay in the measurement. Counting happens on mousedown, which means high frequency techniques are not lost to browser double-click handling.

About this cps test
This is the 60 seconds version of our cps test, locked to a single duration so every score on this page is directly comparable. CPS stands for clicks per second, the standard measure of mouse speed used by Minecraft PvP players, osu! fans and anyone arguing about hand speed. This CPS test counts on mousedown with a tiny sanity filter, so jitter clicking and butterfly clicking register correctly instead of being swallowed by double-click detection. Run the 1 second mode for a raw burst score or 60 seconds to test stamina.
